Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Assassin's Creed 2

The Saga Continues

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood takes place right after the events of Assassin's Creed 2. Ezio leaves the Vault with Mario and flees to Rome. He informs the Brotherhood of what he saw in the Vault and his decision to spare the Pope's life. Later that day,
Monteriggioni is attacked by Cesare Borgia, the Pope's son. He kills Mario and takes the Apple of Eden for the Templars. Ezio escapes and goes to attack the Templars in Rome, the center of their power in Italy. While in Rome, he learns the Creed has lost
much of its strength, so Ezio starts to rebuild the Creed and restore it to its previous strength. Over the course of three years, Ezio and the Brotherhood slowly cripple the Templars in Rome by destroying resources and assassinating people close to Cesare.
Cesare confronts his father about Ezio and the Creed and demands the Apple of Eden. Rodrigo fears his son's lust for power, so he tries to poison him with an apple. Cesare takes a bite, spits it out, and force feeds his father the rest of it, killing him.
Ezio learns of the Apple's location and uses it to defeat Cesare, arrest him, and kill his followers. Years later, Cesare breaks out of prison and invades Viana, Spain. Ezio and Cesare clash once more, ending with Cesare dying at Ezio's hands.
